Dr. Hansen and his guest give a brief overview of the books "Vertical Reality" and "Unity with a Return," authored by Norm Willis. "Vertical Reality", a devotional, is spirit food to daily build the spirit man - "Unity with a Return" asks why there is a delay in Christ's return when every New Testament writer wrote with the view of Jesus' imminent return - Without unity in the Church, we will continue towards destruction.
(By Norman Willis) Why did so many New Testament writers speak of the eminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, yet two thousand years later we still wait? Could it be we are missing something? Is it time we began asking questions? It is time we ask ourselves, What must we do to make ourselves ready? With John 17:20-23 as his blueprint, Pastor Norm examines these questions and sounds a prophetic call for unity for the sake of Christs return.
(By Norman Willis) A Daily Spiritual Encounter That Brings A Sharp Focus On Reality
Failed trust causes breaches in relationships but agape love protects, heals, and enhances our relationships. God never intended us to place our trust in 1 person alone. If you put your trust in man you will always be disappointed because no one is totally trustworthy and perfect. Instead of breaking relationships when our trust is breached, God wants us to trust in him and Agape love other people.
Like Solomon, pride prevents us from making good choices and from submitting to authority including God. We never know the day we are going to die so in your youth remember God. How we live now determines our future position in God's Kingdom. What fruit will we have to offer God? What rewards and position in his kingdom will he give us? Right now it might not matter much how we live but it will matter in eternity. Be wise enough to understand, this life comes to an end and you are not always going to have the strength of your youth. What kind of memories are you going to have? Regrets, "I wish I would have..." or are you going to feel satisfied, "I served him with all I had I'm happy and content."
Many times people make bad choices when they are young. Later in life when they enter what Ecclesiastes describes as the evil days, when your body will not respond physically the way it used to and all you have is your memories . Do you have good memories or do you wish that when you had strength you were serving the Lord? Do you wish that when you stood before the Lord on judgment day you wouldn't be ashamed, he would say well done. When the Lord Jesus returns at the battle of Armageddon, he is going to throw out evil leaders and put in righteous leaders. The bible says clearly that we that have been faithful will rule and reign. Dr. Hansen teaches from Ecclesiastes chapter 11 vs. 9 - 10 and chapter 12 vs. 1-7.
